CBD Living Travel Kit – My Take
By Mel from brokeGIRLrich on December 2, 2020
Being a blogger for several years has its perks. Companies occasionally offer me free products for a review. Sometimes, they offer pretty useful stuff like eyeglasses and contact lenses. But mostly, I turn down these offers – they’re just not related to my blog or they’re simply strange.
Recently, though, a unique offer caught my attention. It combined the promise of something possibly beneficial with my longing for travel during this stay-at-home period. CBD Living presented me with a complimentary travel kit to review.
Over the past few weeks, my travel was limited to the space between my living room, kitchen, bedroom, and desk. But, the CBD Living travel kit took a prominent spot on my desk and the products were used on a regular basis.
A part of my interest stems from my cousin’s experience with CBD products. She tried them to alleviate her anxiety and improve sleep, with disappointing results. Being an anxious person myself, products claiming to reduce anxiety always pique my interest.
After my not-so-pleasant encounter with pot a decade ago, I was intrigued to learn more about CBD. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a component of medical marijuana, believed to have numerous health benefits. It’s expected to help with ailments ranging from anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain, to acne, menstrual cramps, and some side effects of cancer treatments. However, it’s important to note that the only significant scientific backing is for epilepsy treatment. And it’s a must to consult with your doctor if you’re on other medications since CBD can potentially have negative interactions.
Hoping to put an end to my skepticism, I eagerly delved into the CBD Living travel pack. I was curious to see if it could assist with my anxiety, my suspected arthritis, and possibly replace Aleve for cramps.
The kit included a Spray Tincture (100 mg), Cherry Lip Balm (50 mg), Coconut Salve (100 mg), Unscented Lotion (100 mg), and Cold Therapy Roll-On (100 mg) priced respectively at $10 each.
To be honest, the effectiveness of the products was a bit questionable for me. The spray tincture had an unappealing oily taste, while the dosage, 1.33 mg per spray, seemed inadequate.
Despite my aversion to cherry lip balms, due to unpleasant childhood memories of cherry-scented anesthesia masks, CBD Living’s Cherry Lip Balm managed to win me over with its hydrating properties.
The unscented lotion was a pleasant find. Non-greasy, it hydrated my hands well, though no noticeable improvement for my potential arthritis.
While the coconut salve didn’t surpass Aleve for my cramps, it gave me some improvement when used together. Whether it was due to the CBD or the action of massaging it in, I’m uncertain. But I’ll definitely be using the entire tin.
As for the Cold Therapy Roll-On, I don’t usually use cold therapy so it’s hard to provide an accurate review. It was super cold though!
In conclusion, while I’m not entirely convinced about CBD, I’m glad I got to try these products. If you’re a CBD user, you might find these products worthwhile.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to travel soon and use such kits to their true potential. What’s your preferred travel product, though?
