Looking to Grow Your Money?
Ever felt overwhelmed by finance management? Don’t worry, I was there too. But the more I’ve dove into my spending and saving habits, the better I’ve become at managing both. It’s tough at first, but thankfully there are some amazing online tools to help out, such as Mint, Betterment, LearnVest for budgeting, and a new one I recently discovered – Magnify Money.
Magnify Money takes a look at your current lifestyle and provides guidance on how to boost your savings, reduce any debts you might have and make the most of credit card rewards. And hey, they even have a charming dog named Goofski as their mascot.
In a world where everything can sometimes feel negative, Magnify Money is refreshingly positive. I was instantly drawn to their section on “eliminating fees,” an area I have struggled with in the past, particularly with TD Bank and their $100 minimum balance requirement to avoid fees. The fees factor is important for anyone who, like me, despises them.
Magnify Money’s guide on “Five Rules to Follow with Checking Accounts” is also quite helpful. If I’d known rule #2 sooner, I would’ve saved myself about $20!
One of the coolest features is that Magnify Money provides a rating system which allows you to quickly ascertain how user-friendly a company might be. I was thrilled to find that my decision to opt for Ally banking a few years back is still paying off – it ranked second on their list of top online-based banks.
I wish Magnify Money had a search function, so I could have easily checked their findings on TD Bank…I suspect it’d have a less than stellar rating.
In the interest of expanding my finances, I checked out their suggestions on earning interest. Who wouldn’t want more than the meager 0.5% my current savings earn, right? Ally leads the pack in this area too.
I love the idea of cash back, as long as you’re good at promptly paying off your credit card balance each month, given the typically high interest rates attached. Magnify Money introduced me to an intriguing option I hadn’t known about before, the Fidelity Investment Rewards American Express Card, with 2% cash back and no fees.
The wealth of information doesn’t stop there, Magnify Money even teaches you how to effectively lodge complaints! Don’t forget to click the “Money Finder” button in the top right, it’s a fun little feature.
Just to be clear, this post wasn’t sponsored by any company. I’m just so excited about this service that I wanted to share it with everyone.
