Uncovering Secrets: How to Maximize Value in Your Hotel Stays

Title: Affordable Hotel Choices for Your Next Adventure

During my travels, I’ve become quite skilled at selecting hotels, specifically those that fall into the two to three-star category. These are the kind of hotels that I usually stay in myself.

I’ve lived in an array of hotel chains over five months, and believe me, some were fantastic, others, not so much. So, listen up, particularly if you’re planning a summer trip. Here are my top four affordable hotel picks.

Number Four: Sleep Inn & Suites
Sleep Inn & Suites is a solid choice if you’re simply looking for a clean space to snooze at night. The rooms are neat, beds comfy, and while there aren’t any special amenities, it does offer free breakfast. Nothing extravagant, but a simple breakfast is a good way to save some bucks.

Number Three: Hampton Inn
Hampton Inn is another excellent pick, with clean rooms and good beds. Plus, they give out adorable coffee cup cozies with cute graphics on them. Like Sleep Inn & Suites, they offer a free breakfast and a bonus – a waffle maker!

Number Two: La Quinta
La Quinta was my personal favorite. Whenever I noticed it on the itinerary, I felt calm about the stay. Every time, the rooms were immaculate, facilities great, and beds cozy. A good, free breakfast was always on offer too. The only drawback is their sliding bathroom doors without locks – I like a door that securely closes.

Number One: AmericInn Hotel & Suites
Before my trips, I hadn’t heard of AmericInn Hotel & Suites. Despite a strange smelling room on one occasion, they’re generally clean and comfortable. But what makes them stand out is their daily happy hour – free wine and beer! Additionally, their complimentary breakfast is the best I’ve seen.

If you’re planning a longer stay, consider Candlewood Suites. Not just for hospitality but also for practicality – they offer microwaves, full-size refrigerators, stove tops, and often, free laundry facilities. They provide cooking utensils, pots/pans, and dishes, letting you cook and save money.

There were a couple of hotels on the lower scale, however. Even Hotel’s strange see-through bathroom doors didn’t work for me. And I’ll never book into a Best Western again; most were unclean and generally unpleasant.

Lastly, if you happen to visit Omaha, Nebraska, check out the fancy Hotel Deco if you can stretch your budget. Their bar, showers, and room amenities were very impressive.
