Looking for Ways to Earn While on the Move?
Lately, I got the chance to catch up with a fellow cast member over dinner. We exchanged our attempts and failures of our mini money challenge – trying to survive entirely off our daily allowance.
While exploring many places and frequenting native restaurants rather than fast food chains has been a blast, it does put a dent on our budget. Thankfully, I wasn’t too bothered by it as my savings were untouched, thanks to my blog that supplemented my income.
This sparked a conversation about potential side jobs that you can do while constantly on the move. And by ‘on the move,’ I mean literally traveling, not just being busy.
First up, we have blogging. Meet the girl who started her blog while living on a mobile circus train! While it may not provide a quick cash influx, it certainly sets the pace for steady income if you’re willing to pour your heart into it. Speaking from personal experience, my blog eccentricities primarily revolve around personal finance, and although it started as a passion project, it gradually transitioned into a source of income too. As of now, income from sponsored content along with occasional affiliate sales and advertising forms the backbone of my blog revenues. Additionally, you could consider selling an eBook on your website.

Next, there’s freelance writing. It aligns naturally with blogging but with a slight spin – writing for external websites. It’s a fantastic way to begin and gradually, you can pitch to large clients or even tie-up with credible news outlets. Don’t restrict yourself to personal finance alone, hundreds of websites across various domains are willing to pay for guest posts.
We also have the Virtual Assistant role, a versatile job that can be done from anywhere as long as you have a stable internet connection.
Lastly, if you have unique skills like effective money managing techniques or perhaps, a quirky skill of puppet-making, why not convert it into paid coaching sessions? All you need is a phone or Skype.
To sum it up, while we roam around the countryside tasting life, our savings need not suffer the brunt. Let’s fuel our adventures with these travel-friendly side hustles. Any other suggestions are more than welcomed!
