Hit The Great Outdoors: Affordable Adventures with Camping
Hello everyone! I love sharing my adventures, and I’ve always had a blast on family camping trips. I have so many memories from growing up being part of a big family – there was always someone to goof around with in the wilderness. I’ve got some hilarious and slightly painful stories, like the time I ran into a fire pit, or when my cousin tipped the canoe over! There’s also the time the marshmallow I was toasting caught fire and I ended up wearing it on my leg.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore camping, even with these funny accidents. I haven’t been on a family trip since high school, and I can’t wait to get back out there this year.
Last year, I found a great way to save money during my road trips for work. Instead of a hotel, I’d camp out, and it felt awesome to reconnect with nature. Except for the time my camp was next to a busy highway, but hey, you can’t win them all.
I bring this up because camping season’s here, and it’s a great budget-friendly way to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
For those who love to camp, there’s this cool app, RA Camping, to find campsites. It’s designed by Reserve America and has a huge search engine for campsites. Also, check out your local state parks they might have lower rates and even have places down to $5 a night!
Even in the middle of nowhere, you gotta eat, right? Here’s a fantastic and easy campfire treat. It involves bananas, Nutella, marshmallows and aluminum foil. All you do is stuff a banana with Nutella and marshmallows, wrap it in foil and let it cook on hot coals. Ten minutes later, you’ve got a gooey, tasty snack!
Though if you prefer something heartier, there’s this one pan recipe. It’s delicious and low-effort. You’ll need chicken, veggies, and an onion soup mix. You just cut up everything, add it to a hot bag, and grill. It makes a lovely warm meal by the campfire.
Now, what about fun after dinner? I absolutely love board games. It’s hard to convince people to play at home, but when we’re camping, it’s game on! I’m really into Cards Against Humanity and Ticket to Ride. If you haven’t tried them yet, give them a go. They can be addictive!
So, any of you love camping too? Got a favorite recipe or a fun game suggestion for my next trip? Share in the comments!
