Try Out Peek and User Testing for Extra Cash
Got some free time on your hands? Love to blog? Well, this one’s for you!
If you run your own website, you’ve probably thought about how users perceive it. Are they finding it easy to navigate? Is your message hitting the mark? Thankfully, there’s a solution to help answer these questions – Peek.
Peek gives you a free assessment of your website. All you need to do is submit your site name and email address, and voila! Within a day, you’ll have a 5-minute video showing a random user interacting with your site. They’ll give you feedback on how your site looks, navigability, and share if it’s something they’d want to revisit. Cool, right? And yes, you can do this free once a month and even have them test your mobile site or app.
Now, if you’re curious about the people reviewing your site, Peek is a part of a broader group – User Testing.

User Testing – For Part-Time Hustlers
Think of User Testing as being a virtual mystery shopper. All you need is a computer with a working microphone; even the built-in ones work just fine.
Once you sign up, they’ll have you download a program called Screen Recorder which captures your screen activity. For your privacy, make sure to close any pages you wouldn’t want a stranger to see.
You’ll go through a sign-up process where you watch a sample video, get familiar with their requirements, and take a non-paid tester practice run. This helps you understand how the system works.
With everything set, you’re directed to a dashboard where available tests appear. The easiest way to grab tests is by leaving your dashboard opened in the background and hop over when you hear a notification for a new test.
Tests generally pay $10 and take about 20-30 minutes of your time. On the other hand, Peek’s 5-minute tests pay $3 and are snapped up fast. Bigger firms often offer $10 tests as they seek multiple users’ feedback.
There are also some tests which need you to pass certain prequalifying questions as they’re targeted towards specific demographics, like a remodeling company seeking feedback from people planning to remodel their homes.
You can even download the User Testing app and continue bagging rewards while commuting.
I’ll be honest – it takes some time before you get paid for your first test. But once you’re past the initial assessment, the earnings start flowing in much quicker. It’s a fun way to earn a couple of extra bucks – roughly $50 a month in my case – without really breaking a sweat.
Isn’t that better than just binge-watching TV and earning nothing? So go ahead, give it a shot and pass on the word!
